Rain on Canada Day weekend in Tofino – not really surprising, although somewhat disappointing. The liquid sunshine didn’t really dampen the spirits of the 300 campers just up the road at Wickaninnish Elementary School’s field. They were bound and determined to depart on their canoe trip on Saturday July 2.

The clouds and rain both parted for a while on Friday for the skate competition and the fireworks. Actually the Village Green was pretty hustle bustle both days too – the market and the beer gardens. July 3 is a Reggae Sunday from 4 to 8 and I’d be willing to bet that the vibes gonna be pretty good there rain or shine.

Rain or no rain, this weekend wasn’t bad – Surf was good, no riots or car accidents, and Tuff Beans had a busy weekend. Summer is here, whether the sun is shining or not. All the people here this weekend proved it. I only have one question. . . are the fireworks really over?

Some additions to the website yet to come are a tide chart on the conditions page and an improved contact page.
Its not just the website that’s had a facelift. If you haven’t been in to check it out, we have new menu boards, paint, upholstery and we’re still not there.
